CORONA, CA, December 06, 2018 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The Inland News Group has named Pardee Homes the 2018 midsize company winner of its fifth annual Top Workplace competition. Pardee Homes Inland Empire was among 807 organizations who participated in the annual program. More than 30,000 employees were surveyed, and 40 companies and organizations were honored as the top places to work in 2018 at a recent awards presentation held at the Riverside Convention Center.
The large company winner for 2018 was the San Bernardino Inland Regional Center, which claimed its second top honor in two years, and the small company winner was Brookside Healthcare Center in Redlands.
Pardee Homes, established in 1921, expanded to the Inland Empire about 20 years ago and has its regional headquarters in Corona. Under the direction of Mike Taylor, division president, the company has designed and built new home communities in Lake Elsinore, Murrieta, Menifee, Winchester and Beaumont, as well as master-planned communities that include homes, parks, schools and shopping at Canyon Hills in Lake Elsinore, Centennial in Menifee and Sundance in Beaumont. Recently, Pardee Homes Inland Empire premiered Altis in Beaumont, its first active adult, 55+ master planned community. The division currently has 134 employees in the Inland Empire region.
"It's truly an honor to receive this recognition from the Inland News Group and know that it was employees that chose the winners," said Mike Taylor. "We strive to treat all of our employees with respect, kindness and empathy. Our focus across the board is on people. We want to make sure our people have the best tools, resources and training. As for new hires, we specifically look for attitude and work ethic, and have found that culture contributors assimilate well with our team philosophy."
Taylor was pleased to add that it's not all about work at their Corona headquarters. The company offers outlets for fun and wellness with parties and outings, and honors individuals who go above and beyond the norm with anniversary celebrations.
The keynote speaker at the Top Workplaces luncheon was Mike Stull, a professor at Cal State San Bernardino and director of the Inland Empire Center for Entrepreneurship. He encouraged business owners and managers to be accepting and open to new ideas and to 'get out of their own way' while stressing that culture is a winning contributor to employee satisfaction.
