Leadership Coaching Pioneer, Lerae Gidyk, Continues Her Journey of Success, Happiness and the Human Experience

Lerae Gidyk, Founder of Soul Designs, has always had an interest in the human experience and relationships therein. "Coaching is my way of helping people liberate themselves from the many excuses and patterns they think they are stuck in," says Gidyk, "I believe we are ultimately responsible for the quality of our lives, because our lives are a culmination of the choices we make. The discovery of coaching changed Lerae Gidyk's life, because I was raised to believe that being educated and creating financial security were the priorities in life.

"Ever since I was young, people mattered to me," states Ms. Gidyk. "I was an empathic, happy kid. As I grew, I quickly realized what I needed to do to avoid things that made people disappointed or mad and I learned what I needed to do to earn the approval and praise of others." Coaching was the answer to so many of the problems Lerae Gidyk had struggled with throughout her first 28 years. Insecurity is an integral part of losing one's way, and Ms. Gidyk experienced this personally in the form of "not fitting in" amongst other people. She explains: "What I didn't realize was that I was already, at a young age, starting to make decisions based on what I thought I 'should' do instead of what I really wanted to do. I'd have times where I truly felt like 'myself' in my younger years while at camp, or in my twenties while I was traveling, but they'd be offset by the transition back to reality, be it school or work. I'd find myself in a funk as I returned home to fit back into the roles and expectations I had taken on with my friends and family. It wasn't until I had spent my last $5, when all seemed lost, that I happened across a Success magazine article describing the emerging profession of Coaching, and everything made sense. I found my calling. I was and always had been a coach!"

What many people do not realize is that Lerae Gidyk was one of the very first leadership coaches… ever!
