COVINGTON, GA, January 10, 2019 /24-7PressRelease/ -- SteelCo Buildings recently participated in the 2019 Covington Lions Club Christmas Parade, where their float won the award for Best All Around Float.
The Covington Lions Club Christmas Parade is a much anticipated event in Covington Newton County. While rainy weather forced the parade to delay for a week, it did not deter participants or onlookers on the rescheduled date, December 15. Santa Claus, the Grinch, and other holiday characters were all present at this year's parade.
"We enjoy this event each and every year," said Jay Bailey, CEO of SteelCo. "The team at SteelCo Buildings enjoys making our float and representing our community."
The SteelCo Buildings float was constructed by the SteelCo team and was over 36 feet long. The float featured life size legos, an erector set and wooden building blocks.
The Covington Christmas Parade takes place every year and is sponsored by the Covington Lions Club. There were 100 participants in the parade this year, from businesses to schools, and other local establishments. Lewis Kelly, the 2019 Newton County Teacher of the Year was the Covington Lions Club Christmas Parade Grand Marshal. Residents gather and line the Covington square to enjoy a showcase of festive floats and decorations.
