Business North Carolina has published a list of North Carolina's Legal Elite, "a listing of the state's top lawyers in business related categories," since 2002. All lawyers featured on this list are nominated by their peers, where Business North Carolina sends out ballots once a year to every member of the N.C State Bar. Recipients are asked the following question: "Of the Tar Heel lawyers whose work you have observed firsthand, whom would you rate amongst the current best in these categories. Voters are not allowed to vote for themselves." Based on the results through firsthand observances of his verdicts in the courtroom, Mr. David Teddy of Teddy, Meekins & Talbert, P.L.L.C was named on the list of Legal Elite for 2019 for his work within the practice area of Criminal Law.

Mr. Teddy is devoted exclusively to the defense of serious criminal cases. He is certified by the N.C. State Bar as a specialist in North Carolina Criminal Law.
