STILWELL, KS, February 01, 2019 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Steve Physioc, a veteran television and radio broadcaster, released his second novel today. "Above the Walls" is a work of historical fiction set in World War II Italy.
"Above the Walls" continues the story of the winemaking Martellino and Carollo families, which Physioc began in his debut novel, "The Walls of Lucca." In "Above the Walls," the families struggle to stay together – and alive – during the horrors of World War II, as well as square off with the sinister Alfredo Obizzi, who is determined to see the families and their livelihood ruined.
Physioc had never written any works before a trip to Italy with his wife in 2006 drove him to pen the tale of a vineyard and the vivid characters who live and work there. The heroine of his two novels is Isabella, inspired by his wife, Stace. Physioc drew the inspiration for Isabella's strong faith from the book "A Course in Miracles," which urges readers to lead lives of love and forgiveness.
"I've been a storyteller for over four decades," said Physioc. "Writing historical fiction certainly is different than calling play-by-play at a ballgame, but it's something I felt called to try."
"Above the Walls" is available for purchase in paperback and ebook formats on Amazon.com. "The Walls of Lucca" has received numerous positive reviews from editorial publications, including Kirkus Reviews and BlueInk.
