LOS ANGELES, CA, February 04, 2019 /24-7PressRelease/ -- DADDA-Poodle House Saloon, directed by American visual artist Paul McCarthy and starring Rachel Alig, is one of the selected films to screen next month at the 2019 Berlin International Film Festival (Berlinale).
Rachel Alig, the Los Angeles based leading lady, collaborated with Paul and his son Damon McCarthy over the course of three years to bring this feature-length film to life. DADDA, Donald and Daisy Duck Adventure, is the first of five experimental feature length chapters created by the McCarthys, relying heavily on the improvisational skills of Alig and the ensemble. Filming for a total of 65 days, DADDA navigates the dark side of humanity and how the exploration of the west is a fundamental narrative of America's culture and mythology. The film first screened in Vienna at the 2018 Wiener Festwochen.
Alig has starred in multiple independent feature films, along with re- curring roles on the streaming platform VETtv. Upcoming projects include the horror film Little Darling set to begin in May, a new series for VETtv to which she is developing and co-writing, as well as filming the next feature length chapter with the McCarthys, titled NVVN.
In addition to its showing at Berlinale, DADDA will also screen in Los Angeles at The Montalban Theatre on Friday, February 15th.
