The idea behind executing the biometric registration procedure of Rohingya refugees is to identify the refugees/illegal migrants, who have migrated to India from Myanmar and are unlawfully residing anywhere across the nation.

Also, the Home Minister had said that "It is essential to obtain the personal details of refugees and their movements so the illegal immigrants can be deported to Myanmar."
