"I am pleased to add a third mural to the district and honored by the response to 'The Bull Rider' so far." ------Muralist Luis Angulo of Austin, TX
FORT WORTH, TX, October 03, 2019 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Muralist Luis Angulo has completed "The Bull Rider," his third mural in the new Fort Worth Design District at 1953 Golden Heights Road in Fort Worth, TX 76117.
Angulo created the billboard-sized art piece on a shipping container that is part of Box Office Warehouse Suites, the innovative eco-friendly Fort Worth business park at the center of the design district that is made from more than 100 recycled shipping containers.
"My concept was to create a piece that would highlight parts of Fort Worth history and cowboy culture," said Angulo. "I chose this theme because I think it will resonate with people who come to the Fort Worth Design District and see the mural."
"The mural came out the way that I envisioned," said Angulo. "I wanted to capture an iconic cowboy image and infuse it with some color and movement from the bull," he added.
"Luis has made us a beautiful mural that visitors to the design district will enjoy for years to come," said Jim Eaton, VP of RDS Real Estate, the developer of the new Fort Worth Design District.
"I am pleased to add a third mural to the district and honored by the response to 'The Bull Rider' so far," added the Venezuelan artist. Luis Angulo's mural "Fierce" is the winner of the Second Annual Graffiti Art Contest held earlier this year in the Fort Worth Design District.
The Third Annual version of the contest will be on March 14, 2020 from 11 to 4 pm in the district. The event includes nationally known spray can artists competing for prizes, arts and crafts vendors, food trucks and music. Visitors to the can also do the Snap and Share Art Walk, a series of interactive murals that are ideal for snapping selfies or other photos to share.
Among Luis Angulo's current projects is building a new center for artists in Austin, Texas, called Something Cool Studios. "The studio will have spaces for artists to work and to host workshops and events and to network with other creatives," said Angulo. A soft open is scheduled for November. The space is located at 1717 East Cesar Chavez in Austin, TX.
