New Tequila Brand Wins Seven International Spirit Awards in 2019

Volans Ultra Premium Tequila is from the region of Los Altos in Jalisco, Mexico and has been honored with seven international spirit awards so far this year. Volans Extra Añejo has won 6 awards, making it one of the most awarded Extra Añejo Tequila of the year. The newly-released Volans Blanco just won a Gold Medal at the Tequila Mezcal Challenge in Denver, Colorado.

At the Sip Awards in Irvine, California from May 4th-May 27th, Volans was awarded Platinum distinction in the Agave Tequila Extra Añejo category. Now in their 11th year, these awards welcome consumer judges to determine the winners. This means the contest is unaffected by industry bias, as it allows the public to choose their favorites.

Volans also picked up Gold at the San Diego International Wine & Spirits Challenge - scoring a total of 93 points. Additionally, in March the Idaho-based tequila company picked up a Gold Medal at the Denver Spirits Competition for their oak-barrel-aged spirit.

This award-winning Extra Añejo also received Gold at the Los Angeles Spirits Competition, plus a Silver Medal at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition. Finally, this tequila won a Silver Medal at the New York International Spirits Competition - with a score of 92 points.

What makes this multi-award-winning tequila stand out? Volans is made from 100% Blue Weber Agave, harvested at the peak of maturity. Then, it's slow-cooked for 22 hours in a masonry stone oven - evenly from top and bottom to avoid overcooking. The water used is a mixture of deep well, rain, and spring water to give just the right amount of minerality to the tequila.
