During 2019 SCEWC (Barcelona), the Ministry has decided to hold "Korean Smart City Business Opportunities Event"
BARCELONA, SPAIN, November 15, 2019 /24-7PressRelease/ -- South Korea's new 'Smart city' project begins its third attraction event in Barcelona, Spain.
'Korean Smart City Business Opportunities Event', held by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and supported by National IT Promotion Agency and KIC Europe, will be held in Barcelona, Spain, on the 19th, during '2019 SCEWC'.
This event is a global company attraction program for Sejong-si and Busan-si, both of which are promoting their images as Korea's smart cities. This event was first held in Korea last September (2019 WSCE World Smart City Expo) and second in London, UK on the 30th of October. The event being held during '2019 SCEWC' is the third in line.
Smart city model complex is a public and corporate project, which has the following objects: development and spread of technologies for the 4th industrial revolution; provide a solution to city problems; improve quality of life; and create a innovative business environment. Sejong-si and Busan-si have been selected as two model cities in which this smart city project will be realized.
The event will try and attract attention of global companies within the model city through smart city national model city introduction and outlining the support provided for global companies. Also, various promotions will be held in place so that such companies can work with domestic companies as well.
This event is for more than 50 Europe smart city core/IT related institutions and groups, who has the smart city technology/services and are participating in '2019 SCEWC'.
For this event, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, NIPA, Sejong/Busan Smart city MP, Sejong technopark, Busan IT promotion agency and KIC Europe are participating, as well as domestic companies that participate in the local market.
Opening speech will be delivered by Head of Land and city department fro the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Chunghwan Ahn, who will introduce the competitive edge that 'Smart city' will bring to Korea, who is a rising star in the Fourth industrial revolution.
Main agendas include the developmental direction of smart cities, focused around Sejong-si and Busan's Echo Delta city, focus areas and other master plans, which will be revealed in the event.
Sejong Smart city's plan will include AI-based mobility healthcare and other 7 services that can change the lives of its citizens. The Sejong MP will explain, under the theme of city space, an optimized city for realization of various services.
Busan's smart city, named Echo Delta city, will construct a 'City life with robot' and 'Korean water-specialized city model', in order to provide new business environments for robotics and water managements. Other secret master plans will also be revealed.
This will be followed by a presentation from each area, including Sejong Techno park and Busan IT promotion agency, who will talk about cooperation with global companies and further supports that could be provided.
Projects that can be realized, even in the form of a model business, will be promoted through cooperation between domestic and global companies, and further support will be given to such projects.
The event will also include 4 Korean companies – Sharpen Goat (CEO Ik hwan Kwon), Eduhash global partners (CEO James (Junghweon) Jeon), Zero web (CEO Jae hyun Lee) and Quantum Gate (CEO Ju-yong Back) - who are actually taking part in the construction of smart cities. Introductions of these companies and their projects will also be introduced, and these companies will also play an active role in discovering global companies that may provide local cooperation and support.
NIPA has decided to construct a "Smart city global networking group" and promoted this to attract the attentions of global innovative companies. In the second event (London, UK), 20 local companies from Europe have agreed to cooperate, which was a huge success. The third event will also contain details of this success story.
NIPA devotes itself to reinforcing the competitiveness of the ICT industry and contributes to the economic growth through the efficient support and laying the groundwork for the industrial technology promotion.
