AUSTIN, TX, December 08, 2019 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Linda Hanna Lloyd is a highly successful author, who has also amassed extensive experience in the fields of public health and education.
Mrs. Lloyd's academic endeavors began at the Carlow College, where she studied Liberal Arts and Sciences in 1961. Following on from this, Ms. Lloyd remained in education, receiving her Bachelor of Science degree in Health Education in 1964 from the Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania. Following this, she obtained her Master of Education degree in Health Science from Pennsylvania State University in 1967.
After beginning her career at the Howard Community College, Ms. Lloyd spent the next decade years working in the esteemed role of Professor of Health Education. It was after this period that Ms. Lloyd moved into an exciting new position, serving as a Health Literacy Expert for the Health Resources and Services Agency and then as an Associate with Health Literacy Innovations from 2008-2014.
Following a highly successful career, Ms. Lloyd then embarked on the next phase of her life, as a writer. Focusing on writing poetry as well as novels, Mrs. Lloyd is particularly well known for her published work the 'The Syrian Peddler', a historical fiction novel set in Southwestern Pennsylvania throughout 1905 to 1958. Also released as an audiobook, the audio version was produced by Control Tower Studios, owned by Alex Nannola and narrated by Mike Sears. This audio version also features Ms. Lloyd composing as well as playing the piano music selected between chapters. Also, accredited as an accomplished producer, Ms. Lloyd enjoyed the privilege of being invited to the Howard County Maryland Cable Eight Health Forum series to host the event.
To remain ahead in her profession, Ms. Lloyd is an active member of numerous organizations including the National Association of Professional Women and the Texas Writer's League. In acknowledgement of her professional accolades, Ms. Lloyd holds in high esteem the honor of winning two awards from the Institute of Creative Research for her contributions in poetry. She also received acknowledgment from her previous career successes, including recognition from The Secretary of the US Department of Health and Human Services, and she was also the recipient of the International Community College Teaching Excellence Award for Staff Development from the University of Texas Institute.
In her spare time, Ms. Lloyd can be found writing, playing piano and walking her dog Fidela. Also, as an avid traveler Ms. Lloyd enjoys planning and pursuing her next adventure. Whenever possible, she dedicates her time to various charitable organizations, in particularly the People's Community Clinic and the Austin Chamber Music Workshops.
In the future, Mrs. Lloyd is hoping to follow on from her success and write the much-anticipated sequel to her first novel. She attributes her successes to her two children Karlyn Johnston, Derek Johnston, in addition to her husband, Douglas S. Lloyd, M.D. and to the memory of her beloved father, Louis Franklin Hanna.
