COLUMBIA, MO, January 16, 2020 /24-7PressRelease/ -- As an expert in Anesthesiology, Dr. Milamari A. Cunningham has been acknowledged for her distinguished career in the medical profession from which she has been retired since 2003.
Dr. Cunningham began her academic endeavors by focusing her studies in medicine, graduating from the University of Missouri, Columbia with her bachelor's degree and furthering this with her Doctor of Medicine. In 1975 she began her career in the healthcare industry and gained Board Certification from the American Board of Anesthesiology.
Dr. Cunningham earned herself the opportunity to complete extensive training, which included a Residency in Anesthesiology University Hospitals & Clinics, an Internship in Anesthesiology at the University of Missouri and finally a Fellowship at the American College of Anesthesiologists.
Over the course of her illustrious career, alongside treating patients, managing pain after operations as well as providing anesthetic services throughout procedures, Dr. Cunningham is also highly regarded for her achievements in public speaking and teaching. She is also revered for her strategic planning expertise and experience working in hospital environments as well as other non-profit settings.
In a continuous effort to broaden her knowledge, Dr. Cunningham maintains membership with professional associations including the American Medical Association and American Society of Anesthesiologists. Dr. Cunningham is also past president of the Boone County Medical Association and of the Missouri Society of Anesthesiologists. She currently serves as a board member at a local nursing home.
Now in retirement, Dr. Cunningham attributes her success to her mentors, Dr. Diane Brukardt and Dr. G.W.N. Eggers, who are both now unfortunately deceased.
In her free time Dr. Cunningham raised Belgium Draft Horses, researches genealogy for herself and others and also dedicates time to charity work, supporting A Call to Serve International.
