At the start of her academic studies, Ms. Klinger graduated from the University of Santa Clara in 1975 with a B.S. in Political Science. Moving on from this, Ms. Klinger then went on to attain her Juris Doctorate from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law in 1978.
Ms. Klinger has worked within the industry since leaving law school in 1978, starting with her first role at Chickering & Gregory. Other roles include an Associate of Sedgwick Detert Moran & Arnold, LLP and Steefel Levitt & Weiss and being a Partner of Sedgwick, LLP. In 2018, she opened the Los Angeles office of SMTD Law LLP and oversees handling matters relating to construction and surety law. The practice works on a variety of problems including time-related claims and litigation, legal advice and counsel regarding the contracting process, payment enforcement/defense, administrative and scope claims, and litigation and counseling and transactional services to the construction industry. In addition to her practical work, Ms. Klinger is also an established speaker, author and editor.
Throughout her forty-year career, Ms. Klinger has been honored with a variety of awards in relation to her exceptional work within her field.
