SAN ANTONIO, TX, March 23, 2020 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Old Country Buffet®, Ryan's® and HomeTown® Buffet and Furr's Fresh Buffet® recently announced the immediate temporary closure of all their restaurants in an effort to help slow the spread of COVID-19. All restaurants will remain closed until further notice.
"These are uncertain times for everyone in our country and around the globe. For the health and safety of our team members and our customers, we are closing all our locations to limit the growth of this coronavirus," said Larry Harris, CEO. "We are deeply grateful for all our employees, who have dedicated so many hours to help keep our restaurants operations going through these times, and our amazing customers who have demonstrated loyalty to us throughout the years. We look forward to reopening our doors once health officials warrant it safe to dine out again."
The closed restaurants will be donating all food stocks to various local charities, churches, and food banks. Contributions will be focused on the elderly and sheltered seniors. The buffets and Furr's have a strong following of seniors at their restaurants and are committed to giving back to this population that has been supportive of them over the years.
"Our decision to close our restaurants did not come lightly. These are unprecedented times that require very critical measures," said Harris. "We hope that our actions will encourage others to take all the means necessary to ensure we all are protecting ourselves and our surrounding communities."
