WASHINGTON, DC, March 26, 2020 /24-7PressRelease/ -- To calm anxiety and battle uncertainty during this disruptive and scary time, there is one thing we can all practice: Optimism.
To inspire courage and our commitment to justice, Dr. Paul Zeitz has published Waging Optimism: Ushering in a New Era of Justice.
Waging Optimism offers a ray of hope--a new philosophy and political vision for America to overcome the COVID-19 pandemic, to ensure the survival of humanity in the face of the climate emergency, and heal our failing American democracy. "With persistent optimism, we can each make commitments and build movements during this historic opportunity to usher in a new era of justice," Dr. Zeitz says.
Dr. Zeitz is a physician, infectious disease epidemiologist, and tenacious, award-winning advocate for global justice and human rights. In 2018, Dr. Zeitz authored his memoir, Waging Justice – A Doctor's Journey to Speak Truth and Be Bold, which chronicles the battle against the global AIDS pandemic. The book earned endorsements from Dr. Tedros Adhhanom Ghebreyesus, Director-General of the World Health Organization (WHO), musician Alicia Keys, Nobel Laureate Archbishop Emeritus Desmond Tutu, and other esteemed global leaders.
In his newest Amazon bestseller, Waging Optimism, he invites Americans to build a bold new cross-partisan political movement to transform our democracy so that America can address COVID-19 and other systemic problems that are spiraling out of control.
Now is the time. Waging Optimism is the book.
Dr. Zeitz serves as the Co-Founder of Build A Movement 2020, a cross-partisan political mobilization that connects political parties, movements, coalitions, organizations, and individuals to solve the existential threats facing humanity. Build a Movement 2020 is now urging grassroots calls for free, rapid coronavirus testing and an accelerated medical response.
He also calls for urgent political action to restore a proven, safe and healthy climate by transforming America's greed-driven politics. Dr. Zeitz envisions an America 2.0 Constitution that would establish an authentic democracy, enabling Americans to unify, flourish, and ensure the survival of humanity.
Waging Optimism lays the framework for change around the key challenges that face the world today. "If we adopt these methods, future generations of humanity will have a chance to live life, to pursue happiness, and continue this journey of ensuring that all of humanity lives with liberty and justice for all," Dr. Zeitz says.
Dr. Paul Zeitz serves as the Co-Founder of Build A Movement 2020. Previously, he founded and served as the Executive Director of the Global AIDS Alliance (2000-2011) that helped build the cross-partisan political will to combat the global AIDS pandemic and support the President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) and the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, TB, and Malaria.
He received his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine and a Honorary Doctor of Laws from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, and a Masters of Public Health at Johns Hopkins University Bloomberg School of Public Health, where he also completed his Preventive Medicine Residency. Dr. Zeitz currently resides in Bethesda, Maryland, with his wife of 28 years, Dr. Mindi Cohen.
