Ruth Barrett has been recognized with the 2020 Distinguished Author Award by the International Association of Who's Who

    WOODBRIDGE, VA, April 15, 2020 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Ruth Barrett is a highly successful published author with several books to her name. This success came later in life, after she retired from her career within the federal government, something she had built up since the 1960s.

Starting her career in a clerical post, Ms. Barrett continued to move through several positions, eager to learn anything and everything that would ensure she progressed through the ranks. After moving from clerical to investigator work, Ms. Barrett eventually moved into writing training manuals alongside her supervisory position.

Following Ms. Barrett's membership to the National Association of Professional Women, she was recognized as an NAPW VIP Woman of the Year thanks to her prestigious distinction for leadership in journalism.

As a lifelong fan of reading, Ms. Barrett began writing her own stories and thanks to her expertise in writing, editing and publishing she successfully self-published her first novel, contemporary romance 'New Beginnings'. Ms. Barrett is looking for a traditional publishing deal for her latest book, 'High Jinx in High Places', a mix of romance and mystery. She loves writing and is thrilled to have the chance to take her creative thoughts and scenarios out of her head and onto paper. As well as briefly attending Young Harris College, Ms. Barrett studied Sociology at Georgia State University and would like to take her education further in the future by studying for a degree.
