"We felt compelled to open up a detox wing because we hated seeing clients detox from one facility and not follow through with their after-care plan," said John Eckelbarger, BDR at Stonegate Center.
FORT WORTH, TX, April 21, 2020 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Stonegate Center, one of Texas' premier rehab centers for substance abuse, has announced today the grand opening of its detox wing for men and women. Instead of utilizing one of their off-site partners, clients will now be able to safely withdraw from drugs or alcohol on their 125+ acre campus located in Azle, Texas. This unit will be medically supervised by a physician and nurse practitioner to help clients manage symptoms of withdrawal in a comfortable environment.
"We couldn't be more thrilled to bring this service on campus for our clients," expressed Will Stoy, MA, LPC-S, Executive Director at Stonegate Center, Texas' own gender-separate rehab center for substance use disorders. "On-site detox services lower the barrier of entry into residential treatment and help our clients better ease into our recovery community."
As soon as a patient arrives at Stonegate Center, located just west of Fort Worth, Texas, the treatment team will conduct a medical assessment. This includes urine and blood tests, medical and usage history, as well as a psychological assessment for mental health disorders. The results will help the medical team tailor detoxification services and medications to meet the clients' specific health needs.
Withdrawal from substances like opioids, benzodiazepines, and alcohol is uncomfortable and highly dangerous if done at home. Once an addictive substance has been withheld from a chronic drug user, they experience nausea, dizziness, rapid heartbeat, diarrhea, headaches, and tremors. By providing a service that safely manages these symptoms, Stonegate Center is helping deter cold turkey detox methods that are often deadly.
Currently, Stonegate Center offers inpatient treatment for alcoholism and drug addiction with integrated individual and group therapies, as well as family counseling. After individuals detox safely, they'll be able to join the recovery community and receive these treatment services for at least 45 days and up to 90 days as well as step down to sober living at Trevor's House in Fort Worth.
Clients will have lower out-of-pocket expenses for detox if they have BCBS, Aetna, Cigna, HealthChoice of Oklahoma, PCHS, or Ambetter – insurances that Stonegate Center is in-network with. Having these commercial health insurance providers would drastically reduce cost and make treatment services more affordable for residents in the Dallas/Fort Worth area.
"We felt compelled to open up a detox wing because we hated seeing clients detox from one facility and not follow through with their after-care plan," said John Eckelbarger, Business Development Representative at Stonegate Center. "By eliminating that revolving door mentality, we'll be able to encourage each client to follow through with either residential or outpatient treatment for chemical dependency, which will ultimately improve their financial and health ROI."
What to Expect During Detox
During medically supervised detox, a medical team will monitor your health and vitals while drugs and alcohol pass through your system. The goal is to ease the physical and discomfort felt during withdrawal all the while ensuring that more dangerous symptoms like delirium tremens don't occur during the process.
The detox process can be separated into three steps. First, a medical assessment is conducted to gauge what medication regimen you'll be administered. Second, is the detox regimen itself which lasts anywhere from 2-7 days on average depending on severity. Third, and most importantly, an after-care plan like inpatient or outpatient treatment is put into place to reduce the chances of a relapse.
Additionally, medically supervised detox has other benefits for patients. For instance, stabilization programs allow individuals to withdraw safely with the help of professional medical and clinical teams. As well, detoxes, like Stonegate Center's, offer a clean, safe, and recovery-oriented environment for clients and expert symptom relief.
If an emergency occurs, trained medical experts like physicians and nurses are able to intervene to keep clients safe. Stonegate's goal is to have these experts work hand-in-hand with the clinical team in order for them to tailor treatment to their behavioral health needs as well.
That's because detox isn't just physical. It often brings about feelings of anxiety, depression, sleeplessness, hopelessness, and intense cravings that can be managed through the complimentary work of licensed clinicians. By having the medical and clinical team work together, Stonegate Center is providing clients a full spectrum of care – from start to finish.
"I can't describe how excited we are to open up our detox wing!" Alison Reeves, president of Stonegate Center, eagerly remarked. "We are extremely thankful to our off-site detox partners who worked with us for years, and we hope to continue to use them in some capacity in the future. However, our goal is to lower the barriers of entry to residential treatment, and on-site detox does just that."
About Stonegate Center
Stonegate Center is an private faith-based rehab center for men and women suffering from substance use disorders. Located on 125+ acres outside of the DFW metroplex, their campus is becoming a hub for recovery.
To achieve successful outcomes, the treatment team requires clients to stay a minimum of 45 days but offers stays of up to 90 days. As well, they blend one's faith, or spiritual journey, into their medical and clinical approach. It's this long-term, faith-based mindset which makes them the perfect place for helping chronic relapsers achieve lifelong sobriety.
Their personalized treatment plans are overseen by masters-levels clinicians who also invite families to participate in an exciting, transformative Family Program aimed at shaping the home environment in which many clients fail to fix. By asking husbands, wives, or parents to join the Clinical Director on campus for their two-day intensive, they are better able to address the recovery needs of the entire family.
