STATEN ISLAND, NY, May 14, 2020 /24-7PressRelease/ -- When Rideshare Drivers United members took to the streets of Los Angeles, San Francisco, and San Diego over Mother's Day weekend, the independent worker-led organization took time to distribute face masks and gloves to hundreds of needy Uber and Lyft drivers to help protect them while continuing to work during the Coronavirus pandemic. Through the generous donation of 1,600 masks by CovCare, the medical supplies and logistics company once again showed why it has become the fastest-growing brand dedicated to equipping essential workers and healthcare professionals across the United States amid COVID-19.
The world has changed in countless ways since the spread of Coronavirus began dominating headlines and claiming lives back in early March. That's when two leading sports companies -- Wooter Apparel and GameBreaker -- quickly united to alter their business strategies from producing and selling customized sports apparel and protective headgear, to manufacturing a wide variety of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) from certified N95 masks, K9N5 masks, 3-ply disposable masks, face shields, gloves, gowns, respirators and more. For these two start-up companies rooted in Staten Island, New York (Wooter Apparel) and Westlake Village, California (GameBreaker), this joint venture formed by David Kleyman (Wooter), Alex Aleksandrovski (Wooter), Alex Kagan (Wooter), and Mike Juels (GameBreaker) was about far more than just sports. This was the opportunity to solve the alarming PPE shortage plaguing the U.S. and begin making a significant difference in their communities by forming and launching CovCare.
The impact by CovCare was felt immediately throughout the New York area as the company streamlined the shipping and receiving process from overseas manufacturers to successfully import 1.5 million masks to the U.S. by mid-April alone. What followed was multiple cargo plane shipments from China including 1 million disposable 3-play masks and 500,000 medical gowns and face shields. After two months of effectively overcoming global supply chain obstacles, improving distribution abilities, and utilizing software and technological resources, CovCare had effectively pivoted from sports business to medical supplies and logistics. Along with outfitting frontline staff members fighting COVID-19 at Montefiore Medical Center, Mount Sinai, Staten Island University Hospital, the New York State Nurses Association, Houston Methodist, the U.S. Department of Defense, Steward Health Care, Sentara Healthcare, Cheyenne Regional Medical Center, Highlands Hospital, and the Fort Lee Police Department (New Jersey) among other hospitals and organizations, CovCare has donated over $200,000 worth of PPE supplies to healthcare and essential workers from New York to Los Angeles.
In an attempt to ease the strains and worries caused by the soaring unemployment rate in the United States due to COVID-19, CovCare has also implemented an affiliate program where people can earn 10% on every sale they refer to the company website.
It's yet another way CovCare has become a leader in their field during the Coronavirus pandemic thanks to Wooter Apparel and GameBreaker uniting forces.
