ATLANTA, GA, June 04, 2020 /24-7PressRelease/ -- SteelCo Buildings is proud to announce that we have been awarded the contract to serve as the general contractor for the Henry County Coroner's Office new headquarters.
On May 5, 2020, The Henry County Board of Commissioners voted unanimously to approve the $402,415 contract we presented to the purchasing department. SteelCo Buildings' proposal was chosen out of four other submissions for the project.
The new headquarters building will be located in McDonough, on the county's DOT complex at 92 Work Camp Road.
The facility will have one large cooling unit with a capacity of 10 bodies, a viewing area for identifications, an examination area for police and investigators, and a family room.
"We are grateful for this partnership and looking forward to a successful project with the Henry County Coroner's Office," said SteelCo CEO, Jay Bailey.
This will be the first time the county will have its own morgue. In decades past, Henry County used space at Piedmont Henry Hospital and recently contracted with facilities in neighboring jurisdictions.
