PASADENA, CA, June 04, 2020 /24-7PressRelease/ --
Dear HMRI Friends, Supporters, and Employees,
The recent tragic deaths of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, and Ahmaud Arbery, and the unrest that now pervades many of our cities, are symptoms of the same inequalities that contribute to poorer health for people of color in the United States, especially the Black Community. Many of you have directly felt the impact of these events, nationally and throughout Los Angeles.
Our mission at Huntington Medical Research Institutes is to improve lives through patient-focused scientific research. This includes addressing health disparities among those marginalized by society. We also share important values that include embracing diversity and inclusion as we pursue our mission. At HMRI, we stand in opposition to discrimination and bias in any form or place it exists. We must embolden our commitment to support each other and to being part of the solution during these challenging times.
Sincerely,
Julia E. Bradsher, Ph.D., MBA
President and CEO
