Black Owned Virtual Academy Prepares for Launch

    NEW HAVEN, CT, August 26, 2020 /24-7PressRelease/ -- September 2020 marks the launch of Higher Learning, a Black Female lead virtual academy. After the success of Higher Heights YEP - a statewide college access organization - Higher Learning was formed to meet the growing demand for equitable education.

Amid the pandemic, CEO and Founder, Dr. Chaka Felder-McEntire knew it was time to expand the organization, which has served over 10,000 students and has served 1,000 students since March of this year. The opportunity to expand beyond traditional educational methods has become a necessity in this present time. Higher Learning has emerged to catalyze the education of children grades K-12.

Higher Learning's vision is to permit access to every student to have an educational experience that advances their independent learning in Math, Science, Civic and Social Learning, the Arts and Technology. This virtual learning academy prepares children to utilize technology while also maintaining the comradery with classmates and a bi-directional relationship with their instructors. It will also provide parents with training and resources to support their child's education.

• Technology is not only convenient, but it is also a necessary tool to ensure a quality education for children who are developing their tangible and social skillsets.
• Technology can be utilized to close the achievement gap of black and brown children, while simultaneously empowering parents to have an active role in their child's educational journey.

Chief Executive Officer and Founder, Dr. Chaka, has 20 years of teaching experience within the public and private education all along the east coast. Her teaching method combines high-quality instruction, grit, and life skills - all of which contribute to a well-rounded and adaptable student.

The Higher Learning Virtual Academy is a fully online Grades K-12 school-based option that allows a student to maintain membership at his/her face-to-face school or through a full-time homeschool program. All classes are taught through live instruction with a certified teacher. All courses are researched and standards-based curriculum.
