Outdoor Rosh Hashanah Lunch and Dinner Plus Prayers Are Available At Talia's Steakhouse. Masks and 6-feet Of Social Distancing Must Be Used.
NEW YORK, NY, September 15, 2020 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Rosh Hashanah Lunch and Dinner 2020 at Talia's Steakhouse & Bar During the Covid-19 Crisis.
What pandemic? Covid-19 has not dampened either the enthusiasm nor the quality of Manhattan's premier Kosher restaurant. This is especially evident as Talia's Steakhouse prepares to host guests for Rosh Hashanah, the upcoming festival commemorating the start of the Jewish new year.
This year, Rosh Hashanah will take place from Friday, September 18 to Sunday, September 2. The Jewish holiday memorializes the creation of the world and marks the beginning of the Days of Awe, ten days of introspection and repentance preceding Yom Kippur, or the Day of Atonement. Indeed, Rosh Hashana and Yom Kippur are the two "high holy days" of the Jewish calendar.
For over 18 years, Talia's Steakhouse and Bar, the premier Glatt Kosher restaurant located on the Upper West Side of Manhattan, NYC, has been offering pre-paid, prix fixe, Glatt Kosher Rosh Hashanah lunch and dinner menu options – all inclusive. This year, all Rosh Hashanah meals will be served outdoors. In the event of inclement weather, the dinner will be canceled. In addition to serving Rosh Hashanah meals, Talia's will become a small, informal house of prayer. Talia's designates a special outdoor section space for its attendees to conduct live services and daven Mincha and Maariv during the first and the second night of Rosh Hashanah. This minyan is organized by Rabbi Naftali Citron of Carlebach Shul and all prayers will be led by the renown Chazan Yehuda Green. Orthodox Jews do not use electronics on Shabbat or holidays, leaving live streamed options such as Zoom off the table.
When was asked why in this year's Rosh Hashanah dinner at Talia's is different from all other years, the owner's son, Benjamin Nagar, relied: "Talia's has been blessed to have the opportunity to fulfill the well known saying of the Old Rebbe: "G‑d gives Gashmius (physical pleasures) and Ruchnius (spiritual pleasures) to Jews, and Jews turn the Gashmius into Ruchnius". We are so excited to have this opportunity of elevating and transforming the physical into spiritual. Davening outdoors on Amsterdam Avenue will be a real kiddush shem shamayim barabim and we are so looking forward to praying together b'achdut but with masks and with six feet social distancing."
Ordinarily, the festival of Rosh Hashanah is a traditional time for enjoying a meal out with the family. But as nobody needs reminding, this is no ordinary time. So while the reputation of Talia's Steakhouse remains second to none, its ambiance has changed for now, in keeping with the "new normal". This year, due to the pandemic, and in accordance with new guidelines from New York State and City, Talia's will be serving all meals al fresco during the holidays. Talia's beautiful outdoor café will be open from 4pm to 11pm. To preserve the spiritual experience of the holiday, no money will be exchanged.
Despite the challenging environment, Talia's is determined its customers will continue to enjoy a totally satisfying kosher experience. At Rosh Hashanah they will taste a delicious Glatt Kosher dinner under the sky, along with cocktails from the bar. Dinner patrons will continue to savor the best prime cuts of kosher steak. Talia's will also offer additional dishes such as Moroccan salmon, prime beef brisket and lamb shank.
This year, all customers will have a copy of the lunch or the dinner prix fixe menu at their tables when they arrive at the Talia's outdoor seating and they will have a selection of beef, chicken or fish to choose as an entree. An à la carte menu is not possible during Shabbat or Rosh Hashanah that falls on Shabbat since cooking is not permitted. All Shabbat foods are pre-cooked in deep pots with plenty of liquid and vegetables to keep them moist and fresh. On certain holidays that do not fall on Shabbat, on-the-spot grilling is allowed. So you can enjoy a grilled steak on Yom Tov, the second night of Rosh Hashanah.
Obviously, Talia's Steakhouse is not just another upmarket eatery. As a Glatt Kosher restaurant, it is subject to rabbinic supervision, and its kosher certificate provides clear guidance for conducting prepaid Shabbat and holiday meals in accordance with strict Orthodox Jewish laws. As well as providing customers with top quality kosher dining, Talia's also acquaints its guests with the traditional customs of the Jewish holidays.
Talia's is always making sure to include candles and fresh rose on the tables. They add a delightful touch to one of the great kosher romantic restaurants in New York. Candles and flowers on each table ensure a lovely experience for any couple—honeymooners or not—who wish to dine out during the Jewish holidays.
