FORT WORTH, TX, October 01, 2020 /24-7PressRelease/ -- For many of us a trip to the barbershop or beauty salon is an anticipated ritual. We emerge looking and feeling better and catch up on the neighborhood gossip from our stylist or barber. A trip to the barber or salon is a ritual that many Americans have enjoyed for decades.
If you're curious about what that trip was like in the 1920's when men lathered up for a hot shave with a straight razor and handheld electric hair dryers were a new innovation, you might enjoy visiting Salon and Spa Museum just outside of downtown Fort Worth.
Inside Salon and Spa Galleria Fort Worth Airport Freeway, a salon suite rental salon, the new museum celebrates the history of barbershops and salons. "We've collected a lot of neat salon photographs from bygone eras and have some antique barber shop chairs as well as some old price lists from when haircuts were fifty cents," said Salon and Spa Museum Curator Rodney Ross.
"Because the museum is adjacent to a working salon, we get a lot of visitors who are here to see stylists, providers of esthetician services, barbers or other beauty professionals at the salon, but we also get beauty professionals who are curious about what their industry was like years ago," added Ross.
The Salon and Spa Museum is free and open to the public. It is open from 9 am to 5 pm every day except Sunday. Come take a trip back in time by visiting Salon and Spa Museum in Fort Worth, TX.
