Tim Tebow Foundation Brings First Timmy's Playroom in Oklahoma to The Children's Center Rehabilitation Hospital

    BETHANY, OK, November 05, 2020 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The Children's Center Rehabilitation Hospital, in partnership with the Tim Tebow Foundation, announces the grand opening of a new Timmy's Playroom. The Bethany, Oklahoma location is the 11th playroom in existence, joining nine others in the United States (cities within Florida, Louisiana, Tennessee, and Texas) and one abroad (Davao City, the Philippines).

"We are thrilled to bring this Timmy's Playroom to the patients of The Children's Center Rehabilitation Hospital," shared Steve Biondo, President of the Tim Tebow Foundation. "Allowing children the opportunity to get away from a traditional treatment environment into an area designed for play can tremendously enhance the success of the rehabilitation experience. Aligning with the core values of this hospital to bring Faith, Hope and Love through this space is a joyful way to acknowledge the true source of healing."

Located on the south side of the hospital's campus, the therapy-driven playroom design offers pediatric patients and their families a positive environment filled with faith and fun. The playroom has been customized to serve patients at the hospital for both therapies and relaxation. It includes exciting features such as a football field floor, custom-built lockers for seating, table for arts and crafts, big screen televisions, the latest multi-media and video game system, interactive games and activities. In keeping with the faith-based foundation of both organizations, the words of Philippians 4:13 are prominently displayed to inspire patients and families - "I can do all things through Him who strengthens me."

"We are always looking for ways to make therapy fun," says Becky Vogt, Chief of Rehabilitation and Education at The Children's Center Rehabilitation Hospital. "The playroom's strategically chosen and placed activities will motivate children to move, explore, communicate and socialize. I can see the children using the space to play and have fun with their parents and siblings, which is sometimes difficult when they are facing a new injury or illness."

The playroom is an exciting addition to the state-of-the-art pediatric medical and rehabilitation services at the hospital, which treated 230 inpatients from 48 counties in Oklahoma and nine states last year.
