EC-Council's Academic division focuses on supporting colleges and universities across the world through a free partner program with affordable learning resources and discounted exam voucher rates, allowing students to obtain EC-Council certifications while they complete their degree programs. This division supports secondary and post-secondary programs through certification and stackable credential pathways, cyber competitions and events, faculty and student scholarships, and more. Institutions such as Miami Dade College, Hillsborough Community College, St. Petersburg College, the University of South Florida, and others have been strategic partners of EC-Council.
This past September, EC-Council launched a new Cyber War Gaming platform, CyberQ, to further challenge and assess skills over time in a performance-based range. As with Florida CAPE, the goal is to continuously align education with business for longstanding partnerships across the U.S.
Wesley Alvarez, Director of Academics in EC-Council's Tampa, FL office goes on to say "Intentional platforms that provide organizations visibility into student skills and talent are now essential. In cybersecurity, few platforms have the ability to measure skills, score on common standards, and relate performance to real work roles employers are hiring for. Students need more than a score; they need visibility into their existing skills and a clear path on how to develop them. With CyberQ, we will be soon be providing businesses visibility into the academic talent prior to student's graduating. Both students and professionals need to benchmark skills over time as they grow as professionals and as technology changes. This will be the future of our academic division and what we are passionate about: getting students jobs."
With the newly added certifications to CAPE Post-secondary, EC-Council's Academic division looks forward to supporting more colleges in the state of Florida, many of which have already implemented these opportunities for stackable credentials.
