MONROE, NC, January 07, 2021 /24-7PressRelease/ -- International Indie Filmmaker Day, held virtually on January 30th, is bringing in top experts to speak and answer questions on funding, specifically including Section 181, The recently signed Cares Act extended use of 181 until December 31, 2025, resulting in a huge win for filmmakers. Additionally, the day long event will offer talks and live Q&A from top film professionals in the areas of producing, distribution, navigating film festivals, screenwriting, casting, music licensing, post-production, and a special panel on documentaries. Talent and talent managers will be speaking about possible pitfalls in filming. The day will end with a virtual pajama party with entertainment by Grammy nominees, Yvette Landry and Beverly Davis. Attendees will have the unique opportunity to network with each other as well as panelists.
The day focuses not only on highly informative panels, but on collaboration between filmmakers. Coming out of these sessions, independent filmmakers have real connections to everything needed to produce high quality content including legal, casting and talent acquisition, funding, etc. From development to post-production, everything is covered.
Additionally, on January 31st, a panel of judges, including representatives from legal, distribution, funding experts, and producers, give one pitch contest participant the opportunity to get their project off the ground with in-kind legal, funding, development and consulting services. Pitch observer passes are offered for those wishing to observe pitch process as a learning experience.

International Indie Film Day is presented by Corky Kessler and Patti Price
Corky Kessler has extensive entertainment law, corporate and entertainment industry experience. He regularly speaks on the business and legal aspects of feature film development and tax incentives in connection with the entertainment industry. Corky is actively involved in film fund transactions and counseling, and film funding source development in North America, and is expanding his practice internationally. Mr. Kessler was instrumental in developing Section 181 and extending it until December 31, 2025.
Patti Price is an award-winning producer, owner of KP Films, a full film and music production studio in Monroe, North Carolina, and co-President of NC WiFT Women in Film and Television. She works to connect and empower independent filmmakers and to encourage young filmmakers through her 501c3, Teens in Film, a full scholarship film camp. She currently has several features in development. Ms. Price is a strong supporter of bringing the world together through film and giving everyone an opportunity to fulfill their potential. As an independent filmmaker, she has filled several roles, but her favorite role is mentoring filmmakers and discovering that script that 'has to be made' and becoming the screenwriter's biggest supporter and fan.
