Logistics Representatives Represented by Nichols Kaster, PLLP and The Law Offices of Peter T. Nicholl File Overtime Case Against GlobalTranz Enterprises, LLC

    MINNEAPOLIS, MN, February 10, 2021 /24-7PressRelease/ -- On February 8, 2021, Logistics Representatives filed an overtime lawsuit against GlobalTranz Enterprises, LLC ("GlobalTranz"). They assert claims on behalf of themselves and other similarly situated individuals, including Logistics Representatives, Inside Sales – Account Managers, Carrier Sales Representatives, Account Coordinators, LTL Representatives, or in similar job titles (collectively, "Logistics Representatives"). GlobalTranz is a freight brokerage company specializing in LTL (less-than-truckload), full truckload, expedited and managed transportation solutions with a freight network that consists of over 25,000 shippers and more than 30,000 carriers. GlobalTranz' Logistics Representatives primarily coordinate and schedule pick-up and/or delivery appointments for assigned customers, and track and trace shipments across various modes of transit.

The Logistics Representatives regularly work overtime hours and are paid a salary with no extra pay for their overtime hours. The Complaint alleges that since approximately April 2019, GlobalTranz has misclassified its Logistics Representatives as exempt from the Fair Labor Standards Act's ("FLSA") overtime protections, and improperly denied them overtime pay.

The plaintiffs brought the case as a putative collective action under the FLSA seeking to recover unpaid overtime compensation, liquidated (double) damages, and other statutorily-permitted relief for themselves and other similarly situated Logistics Representatives.

Rachhana T. Srey, one of the plaintiffs' attorneys stated, "the reclassification of these workers from hourly non-exempt to salaried exempt is puzzling to me because I do not believe that the logistics representatives' primary job duties qualify them for an exemption to the FLSA's overtime protections. We look forward to trying to recover the wages they are owed."
