I believe that everyone is a vessel to help someone else if they are willing to be transparent about their own experiences because what you went through someone might be going through right now.
RICHMOND, VA, February 11, 2021 /24-7PressRelease/ -- During a time for change and action, Black entrepreneurs are rising up to support the next generation. In partnership with The Ezer Agency and Girls for A Change (GFAC), entrepreneur and author of the newly released book Note To Self, Mia Brabham, is launching the Note for Self Scholarship.
"I'm a first-generation university graduate myself and understand the hardships that girls of color can face in pursuit of their education and bettering themselves firsthand. Scholarships helped me towards my own college education at James Madison University," Brabham says.
The scholarship is for young Black girls currently enrolled in the GFAC Girl Ambassador Program, which is a workforce development program for high school girls designed to prepare them for the future of work. This scholarship will provide young girls with the financial opportunity they deserve in order to pursue higher education and their dreams.
Girls For A Change (GFAC) is a nonprofit youth development organization, headquartered in Richmond, Virginia, aimed at empowering Black girls and other girls of color to visualize their bright futures and potential through discovery, development, innovation, and social change in their communities.
"I believe that everyone is a vessel to help someone else if they are willing to be transparent about their own experiences because what you went through someone might be going through right now," Brabham says. "I felt that by publishing this book, I could turn negative things that have happened to me into something positive and share my outlook on life. I hope these girls feel inspired, and I can't wait to meet the winner!"
