MONTREAL, QC, March 18, 2021 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Barbados is one of the top tourist destinations which used to welcome thousands of visitors from all over the world every year. However, after the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, the number of visitors decreased drastically. Currently, Barbados is accepting international travelers, but the frequency of flights is reduced. Also, there are certain restrictions that travelers should keep in mind.
Travel Requirements for Entering Barbados
As already mentioned, Barbados is welcoming travelers from any location in the world. However, Matthew Keezer points out that there are certain requirements visitors have to fulfill.
• All travelers must provide a negative PCR test taken no longer than 72 hours before the arrival.
• Travelers should keep in mind that their test might be screened for validity once they arrive at the airport.
• Barbados has an obligatory quarantine period in the duration of five days. On day five, travelers will be retested and, if their test is negative, they will be allowed to exit quarantine.
Barbados Attractions: Rules and Restrictions
Numerous Barbados attractions, such as the Barbados Animal Sanctuary, have been closed and reopened multiple times during the COVID-19 pandemic. Currently, most hotels and must-visit attractions such as Andromeda Gardens or Coco Hill Forest are open.
Supermarkets, pharmacies, and gas stations, excluding convenience stores, remain open. However, their working hours are reduced from 8 am to 4 pm. Travelers can use public transport, but they should keep in mind that seating capacity is reduced.
Barbados is well-known for its soft-sand beaches and turquoise water. But, due to the recent increase in COVID-19 cases, travelers are currently not allowed to enjoy the beaches to the fullest. Beaches are currently open between 6 am and 9 am for exercise and swimming only.
Travelers are allowed to book various tours and hikes, but the number of travelers per tour is reduced in order to ensure maximum safety.
In addition, there is currently a curfew in place from 7 pm to 6 am. All travelers are required to comply with the Barbados "House Rules," meaning that they must wear a face mask in public spaces at all times and abide by the curfew. In addition, all social gatherings and public parties are banned temporarily.
Prior to booking a flight, Matthew Keezer recommends researching the local regulations and requirements so travelers don't experience any unpleasant surprises such as the mandatory quarantine or curfew.
Even though travel is now possible, Matthew Keezer recommends all travelers to stay cautious. Adhering to regulations recommended by health experts, such as hand sanitization and social distancing, will reduce the chances of getting infected. Last but not least, Matthew Keezer advises travelers to isolate themselves after they return to their home country and take another PCR test before going back to work or visiting friends and family.
