What: Representative Capriglione will review the new standards established by House bills 3741-3746 and how the Texas-sized legislation will empower consumers to take back control of their personal information. The webinar will also explore the potential impact the new legislation may have on companies doing business in the Lonestar State.
When: April 22, 2021 at 1:00 PM ET.
Where: Register to attend the online webinar.
Why: In 2020 the Texas Legislature passed House bill 4390, requiring businesses that experience a data breach of 250 or more personal information records to report the incident to the State's Attorney General. Since implementation, the AG has received notification that over 31 million Texans were victims of a data breach last year. Texas joins the groundswell of at least 20 other U.S. states that have introduced new data privacy legislation in the first three months of 2021.
