FORT WORTH, TX, April 09, 2021 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The talented players from The Luckenbooth Theatre in Fort Worth Design District are continuing to build on a strong sixth season with a regional premiere of Mike Byham's original play Ruby Tuesday.
Inspired by the classic song by the Rolling Stones about bittersweet memories, the play celebrates the mixture of grief and gratitude that we sometimes feel when a significant person has passed through our lives.
Ruby is a young woman who enters therapy with her psychologist Dr. Jamie after venturing out onto her office's window ledge. A modern fable, Ruby Tuesday is equal parts romance and comic book whimsey.
"Ruby Tuesday is a personal piece of work that brings together several of my interests," said Byham "I'm a sucker for a good love story, even when it doesn't make sense, maybe especially when it doesn't make sense," he added.
"The human psyche also fascinates me. I believe psychological care is an essential part of life, and I like the idea of portraying the profession in a positive way," said Byham.
Leading the cast are Elizabeth Thresher (Ruby) and Megan Hildebrand (Jamie). They are joined by Sydni Embry (Dr. Ronnie) and Abby Evangelisto (Julie). Nathan Layne is the production's technical supervisor.
