"Citro is the culmination of hard work and planning from dozens of our team members who have spent years bringing to life a shared vision for a residential community"
SAN DIEGO, CA, April 15, 2021 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Team members from Tri Pointe Homes San Diego gathered for a socially-distanced celebration kicking-off construction of the Citro community's model homes. The ribbon cutting ceremony was held on the new homebuilder's active construction site located in southeastern Fallbrook, north of State Route 76 and east of Interstate 15.
"Citro is the culmination of hard work and planning from dozens of our team members who have spent years bringing to life a shared vision for a residential community inspired by the property's rich history and surrounding agriculture lands," said Tri Pointe Homes San Diego Division President Jimmy Ayala. "Breaking ground for Citro's first model homes is a significant achievement and we felt it was important to recognize our team, many of whom have spent years getting us to this point."
Citro was unanimously approved by the Board of Supervisors in January 2012. When completed, the approximately 390-acre residential community will include approximately 844 single- and multi-family homes, six residential neighborhoods known as Meyer, Pomelo, Zutano, Avo, Castello and Tangelo, a 12.7-acre school site, 235 acres (60%) open space and a slew of residential amenities.
Used for farming and agricultural purposes for decades, the Citro property has a robust history that Tri Pointe Homes sought to incorporate in the community's design. Roughly 50 acres will be preserved as agricultural open space, including centrally located community avocado and citrus groves providing produce for the community farm stand or farmers' market and curated by a local farmer. Citro will also include a 10-acre public park, community gardens, sensory garden play area, 14 acres of connective trails and "The Spot" recreation center with a pool, spa, children's' wading pool, BBQ's and community lounge.
The ribbon cutting ceremony commemorates the first stages of model home development within Citro. Tri Pointe Homes plans to release its first model homes within its Castello neighborhood this summer or early fall. Castello is one of six diverse product types offering a variety of housing options tailored to San Diego's middle-income buyers. The community will feature Tri Pointe Homes' interactive and high-tech devices designed to enhance customer experience. QR Codes and touch screen kiosks within the new home gallery will allow interested buyers to seamlessly view floor plans, site maps, and pricing information, and interested parties can design their home using the company's online design studio.
