With Summer Around the Corner, Now is the Time to Perform Pool Ladder Maintenance

Nationwide pool & spa manufacturer recommends installing or performing maintenance on pool ladder now, ahead of the upcoming season.

RALEIGH, NC, April 28, 2021 /24-7PressRelease/ -- For pools with existing ladders, routine maintenance should be done to ensure the ladders are safe and reliable all summer long. The good news with ladders is that nearly all components are replaceable - everything except the actual railings themselves.

Hose off the anchor sockets to keep them clean of any debris or buildup. Ensure no bolts are missing and that all bumpers are still present. Check the ladder steps to see if any bumpers or treads are worn and need to be replaced. If a step is wobbly, the bolts can be tightened to secure it.

You can also add accessories to the ladder, such as grips on the railing that keep the railing cool to the touch and provide a non-slip surface to hold onto.

For pools that don't have a ladder, adding one at the stairs in the shallow end can safely help swimmers enter and exit the pool. Adding a secondary ladder in the deep end can provide an alternate way out and enhance pool safety. Now is the time to install a new ladder before the peak season arrives!

When installing a ladder, safety is, of course, paramount. The concrete that the ladder goes into should be a minimum strength of 3000 PSI, cured to the manufacturer's instructions, and in compliance with all local building codes.

Anchor sockets should be bonded to the bonding grid of the pool and in accordance with the NEC and local codes. These anchor sockets are available in aluminum, plastic, and bronze. Bronze can be used in all pools, commercial or residential, with chlorine or salt systems. Plastic can be used in residential pools with either system, and aluminum can be used only in chlorinated residential pools. Selecting the right socket and ensuring it is placed correctly (proper distancing, leveling, and setback) will help avoid damage to the pool equipment and injury to swimmers.

Consolidated Manufacturing International is a one-stop shop for pool and spa distributors when it comes to electrical products, with the ability to private label products for distributors as needed.

CMI is committed to serving our customers with product innovation, excelling in processing and fulfillment, while creating new opportunities for the Pool and Electrical Professional in both the new construction and renovation markets.

Some items are low volume like cable ties and wire nuts, which makes it too expensive for the Distributor to acquire and resell. Some products are from companies that manufacture only one product or offer only one product applicable to the Pool Industry. CMI works with the pool builder to determine unique and innovative solutions to their problems. The JRD Direct Burial Rebar Clamp is one example of that cooperation.

Whatever the situation, CMI supplies Electrical Pool & Spa Distribution. The costs are very competitive, and the range of products is broad, the supply readily available; CMI adds value to its Customer.
