LOS ANGELES, CA, July 07, 2021 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Gyeonggi-do held "Online Meet Up," an event designed to promote the value of Pangyo Techno Valley and current status of businesses on the 29th.
"Online Meet Up" is one of the promotion projects of Pangyo Techno Valley where participants share major issues facing businesses in Pangyo Techno Valley with start-up clusters around the world every month.
On this day, Gyeonggi-do talked about the current status of "Stantion F" with "Le Café Du Geek," a French media outlet for start-ups. Station F is the world's largest incubator where support projects are being carried out to nurture fledgling businesses.
Alex moderator of Pangyo Techno Valley discussed with Leo CEO of French tech start-up media outlet on the accomplishments of Pangyo Techno Valley and Station F, businesses, investments and performance of major companies.
Lim Moon-young, Director of the Gyeonggi-do Future Growth Policy took part in the meeting to explain the roles of Gyeonggi-do to help Pangyo drive innovation and said the biological technology in Pangyo Techno Valley has stood out since the Covid-19 pandemic began.
He also talked about problems facing businesses in Pangyo and Station F due to Covid-19 and their efforts to tackle them.
Starting with sharing issues with France, Gyeonggi-do is planning to share information about start-ups with Junggwang village, the Chinese version of Silicon Valley. Lim Moon-young, Director of the Gyeonggi-do Future Growth Policy said, "I am looking to this online meet-up serving as an opportunity to promote the value of Pangyo Techno Valley and top companies to countries around the world. Pangyo Technovalley is an innovation hub for global companies comparable to the Silicon Valley in the US, Zhongguancun in China, and STATION F in France. It is an Asia tech hub with 1,259 IT, BT, CT, and NT companies that possess innovative products and technologies. Located just south of the metropolitan area, it provides the best environment for Korean companies to do business with great transportation access and infrastructure.
Various high-tech companies are located in Pangyo Technovalley, and it is occupied by 64,000 full-time employees, many in their 20-30s. In terms of industry, the companies are engaged in information technology, contents technology, biotechnology, and nanotechnology.
With the support of innovative companies with global capabilities such as Kakao, Naver, AhnLab, Krafton, NCSoft, Nexon, and Hancom, companies in Pangyo Technovalley recorded 107 trillion won in sales last year. Investment and infrastructure growth in Pangyo is expected to continue, with the Metaverse hub entering Pangyo this year.
