AURORA, CO, July 31, 2021 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The Colorado Rural Health Center (CRHC) recently released its Annual Report detailing the organization's work during the tumultuous year 2020. CRHC is dedicated to enhancing healthcare services in the state by providing information, education, linkages, tools, and energy toward addressing rural health issues.
The Colorado Rural Health Center (CRHC) is Colorado's nonprofit State Office of Rural Health and Rural Health Association. CRHC works with Federal, state, and local partners to offer services and resources to rural healthcare providers, facilities and communities. In 2020, CRHC invested a record 5.56 million dollars in rural communities across the state.
"The year 2020 will be one that is not soon forgotten and our rural communities rose to the challenge," said CRHC's CEO, Michelle Mills, in her opening comments in the report. The report provides an overview of the accomplishments of Colorado's State Office of Rural Health and Rural Health Association. This year's report focuses on the organization's work disseminating important COVID-19 updates and its work with hospitals, clinics, and EMS providers on quality, Health Information Technology (HIT), policy, and workforce issues.
In 2020, CRHC's COVID-19 webpage registered nearly 4,000 page views as rural healthcare providers sought to stay on top of the ever-changing pandemic. CRHC stewarded the distribution of $74,419.24 to each of 39 eligible small rural hospitals on the front lines of providing care during the pandemic. The organization's policy team tracked 84 bills, ensuring rural representation on the statehouse floor.
