WYCKOFF, NJ, August 11, 2021 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Sixty-seven grant proposals focused on cat health were received for the 2021 EveryCat Health Foundation Grant cycle. After diligent, rigorous review by scientific advisors, board members and a statistician, 15 proposals were selected for funding by the Foundation's Grant Review Committee. Awards for this grant cycle totaled just over $353,000.00 USD.

Grant proposals are received from researchers throughout the world and are diverse in feline health topics. Past highlights include the discovery of taurine as the major cause of dilated cardiomyopathy, the use of high protein/low carbohydrate diets as mainstay treatment of diabetes mellitus, discovery of feline blood types, development of in-clinic Feline Leukemia tests, treatment of asthma with metered dose inhalant therapy, effective antiviral therapy for FIP, any many, many other accomplishments.
