Clermont Arts & Recreation Center Selected for the 2021 Niagara Perk Your Park Contest

News Release

CLERMONT, FL, September 02, 2021 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Vote for the Clermont Arts & Recreation Center (ARC) to win a grant for a community garden.

The ARC has been selected as one of five projects in the 2021 Niagara Perk Your Park Contest from Niagara Bottling in partnership with the National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA).

"A community garden is a way for Clermont residents to work together to beautify our city, improve access to fresh produce, and engage the community," Interim City Manager Scott Davidoff said. "We encourage everyone to vote daily for the chance to create this space."

The Perk Your Park Contest is part of the Niagara Perk Your Park Project, an initiative that focuses on park and community space revitalization across the country.

To encourage public engagement with these new spaces, improvements will include things like community gardens, updated playgrounds, new trail amenities, and other ways communities can connect with the outdoors.

After funding four projects in 2021, Niagara is giving communities a chance to cast their votes for which projects receive funding next.

The ARC is a finalist for the $90,000 renovation grant to build a sustainable community garden, nature play spaces, and covered picnic areas at the facility.

You can vote for the ARC once per day during the contest running from Wed., Sept. 1 to Wed., Sept. 29. The two winning park projects will receive the grant.
