Mitchell K. Wyatt and Rhonda F. Butterfield, partners at this law firm, have been advocating for men in a variety of family law matters for many years, as well as assisting individuals who need help planning for their future.

Mitchell K. Wyatt enlisted in the U.S. Navy after graduating from high school. After leaving the Navy, he attended Brigham Young University (BYU), majored in Business Management, and graduated Cum Laude. Following graduation, he was accepted into law school at BYU.

He re-entered the Navy as a Navy JAG and served as a prosecutor in drug and child sex abuse cases. After leaving the Navy for private practice, he practiced law in Texas until moving to Alaska in 2003. Mr. Wyatt was working as an Assistant Attorney General in the Child in Need of Aid section until he re-entered private practice in May 2007 and limited his practice to primarily family law with an emphasis on fathers' and grandparents' rights. After years of practice in the family law arena, he migrated his practice to estate planning and elder law.

Rhonda F. Butterfield lived in Australia for one year in high school as a Rotary Exchange Student. Her college career included one year in Washington, D.C., on Capitol Hill as a political science intern. She graduated from college early, with high honors, and received a scholarship to attend Georgetown University Law Center in Washington, D.C.

After graduation in 1976, she came to Alaska for a one-year internship with Supreme Court Justice Jay A. Rabinowitz but decided to stay in Alaska. She has lived and practiced in Fairbanks, Kenai, and Anchorage as an Assistant District Attorney and Assistant Attorney General, prosecuting all manner of criminal cases.

Ms. Butterfield also worked in the civil side of the state Attorney General's Office, representing the Child Support Enforcement Division (CSED, now CSSD) in the Department of Revenue. After retiring from the state, she entered private practice. She handles trials, settlements, administrative matters, and appeals with the knowledge, experience, and confidence of someone with four decades of legal experience in the Alaska court system.
