"Her solution was to develop a stunning infographic with short, easily digestible information on crucial safe driving practices."
HOLTSVILLE, NY, October 07, 2021 /24-7PressRelease/ -- As personal injury attorneys, the lawyers at Rosenberg & Gluck, LLP, have handled their fair share of car accident cases. In many cases, the cause of these wrecks comes down to unsafe driving practices. Aside from the typical "bad actions" that many consider to be the cause of car crashes, simple distractions can be just as disastrous. That's why the firm developed the Safe Driving Practices for the Next Generation Scholarship.
Enter Lila Johnson. A self-described "math nerd," she applied to the scholarship opportunity by addressing its chief topic in an infographic. The concept of the scholarship is to shine a light on some of the unsafe practices of the current and upcoming generations of drivers.
"When I hear the phrase 'PSA,' I think of sitting in a classroom in high school and a boring adult voice comes over the loudspeaker and tells us something off a prewritten script that nobody listens to," Johnson said in an interview. Her solution was to develop a stunning infographic with short, easily digestible information on crucial safe driving practices.
Johnson's research unearthed a study from Erie Insurance claiming that 61% of fatal car accidents are caused by daydreaming (or, as Johnson prefers, "zoning out"). Some of the techniques Johnson promotes to combat daydreaming include lessening your caffeine intake, taking time to process new information and avoid "information overload" before driving, eating healthy, and even taking a nap before driving if you feel tired.
Lila Johnson currently attends Michigan Tech, where she majors in Statistics and hopes to eventually carve out a career in the sports data analytics field. Rosenberg & Gluck is proud to provide her with $2,500 toward her education and, no doubt, her future success as an analyst.
