ATLANTA, GA, October 14, 2021 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The Georgia Accounting Food Fight broke its record once again and raised $282,000 or the equivalent of 1 million meals to benefit the Atlanta Community Food Bank. In its eighth year, the annual fundraiser challenges Georgia accounting firms to step up to the plate and raise funds to help in the fight against hunger in their local communities. The 2021 top winners included Anna Abernathy CPA and Nichols, Cauley, & Associates, who collectively raised nearly $40,000. Both firms were leading winners in last year's Food Fight.
"At Nichols Cauley, it is our core mission to help others. When presented the opportunity, we were eager to help in providing others in our community with food," said Rachel Bartlett, Senior Manager, Nichols, Cauley & Associates. "Our team enjoys the challenge of the Georgia Accounting Food Fight, but we also love the chance to make a difference. This is who we are, as a team, and it is great to participate with the Atlanta Community Food Bank in helping them accomplish their mission. Our part is small, but rewarding."

• Large Firm Winners: Moore Colson (Most points overall); TJS Deemer Dana (Most points per employee)
Since its inception in 2014, donations raised from participating firms of the Georgia Accounting Food Fight have surpassed $1 million. The funds have helped provide more than four million meals for individuals and families in the Atlanta Community Food Bank's service area.

"Through the efforts of 44 firms, a record-breaking $282,457 was raised for our organization. Over these past eight years, the Georgia Accounting Food Fight has raised more than $1,157,000 for families in need in the North Georgia and metro Atlanta areas."
