LOS ANGELES, CA, October 22, 2021 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Story TV, one of Korea's top television producers, announced today that it has inked a deal to develop a feature film and television series with Dark Castle Entertainment. Story TV, which is benefiting from the worldwide appetite for K-wave entertainment such as Squid Game, BTS and BLACKPINK, is doubling down on the success from its own hit K-drama Netflix series, It's Okay to Not Be Okay, which was nominated for an Emmy this year and called "One of the Best International Shows" by the New York Times.
Story TV's CEO, SunHae Bae said: "It is time for Korean filmmakers to take their place as creators of Hollywood films and we have found a great partner in Dark Castle Entertainment." Dark Castle is responsible for some of the biggest genre hits of the last fifteen years, including Guy Ritchie's Rocknrolla, Jaume Collet-Serra's Unknown and the cult hit Orphan, the prequel to which was just picked up for distribution by Paramount Players. Dark Castle's CEO Hal Sadoff said: "We are excited to be partnering with Story TV who is one of the most prolific and dynamic producers in Korea."
Though specifics of the project has not yet been fully revealed, it will be an international crime series. The project is being produced by Story TV's Sun Hae Bae with Yoo, Cheol Yong (Story TV producer/director), Dark Castle's Sadoff and Ethan Erwin, with entertainment veterans Bret D. Lewis and Yong Lee Executive Producing.
