VALENCIA, SPAIN, November 20, 2021 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The Department of Entrepreneurship and Economic Innovation, 'Valènciactiva' has launched a unique opportunity through applications for sponsorship of revitalisation activities in Ciutat Vella of Valencia for the end of the year.
Thus the Cultural Association The Way of the Holy Grail has presented, thanks to Dr Ana Mafé Garcia https://anamafegarcia.es ... a plan in public concurrence where it is intended to give life to Ciutat Vella (old town of Valencia)... with the story of the Way of the Holy Grail. This is to encourage traders and restaurateurs to collaborate with the Association to build together a future as efficient as it was done in the city of Santiago de Compostela, back in the 80s of the twentieth century.
Today, the Ciutat Vella of Valencia is impracticable, with building works and people's fear of going out.
Therefore, we propose activities for young and old in the days leading up to the December long weekend to revitalise as much as possible this emblematic area of the city while awaiting the recovery of visitors from the international tourist market.
During the I JORNADAS CAMINO DEL SANTO GRIAL EN CIUTAT VELLA (1+1=5) the Asociación Cultural El Camino del Santo Grial will integrate the maximum number of types of premises and establishments that exist in Ciutat Vella or, at least, the most emblematic ones related to the route of the primitive Camino del Santo Grial in the centre of Valencia.
Each proposed activity obeys a series of objectives which are contemplated in the document "ACORD MARC PER A LA RECUPERACIÓ I LA RECONSTRUCCIÓ DE LA CIUTAT DE VALÈNCIA EN EL CONTEXT DEL POST COVID-19". A global pact for the recovery and reconstruction of the city, based on three main axes:
Axis 1: Healthy and sustainable city
Axis 2: Economic recovery
Axis 3: Equity and social rights
Several cultural, dissemination and recreational activities will take place.
On 23 November at 12 noon there will be a Floral Happening. That is, a proposal to beautify the C/Santo Cáliz in Ciutat Vella. The aim of this action is to raise awareness and educate citizens on environmental and urban issues by improving the visual, functional and landscape quality of a very emblematic street because of its name.
That same afternoon, at 17h all the critics and friends of gastronomy have an appointment in the 'Colmado de La Lola' for the presentation of the "tapa del peregrino".
On the 24th and 25th of November from 10am to 12pm we will be interviewing the traders of the Mossen Sorell Market at the 1st Gastronomic Days: get to know our markets in Ciutat Vella.
On 26 November at 10:30 am, at the RACV we will start the Colloquiums on the Holy Chalice and its implications in the territory. The Museum of L'Iber will be the second venue for these colloquiums through the Play Radio 107.7 programme on Saturday 27 November from 10am to 12 noon. The last session will be on Tuesday 30th November at 22h in the Café de las Horas for the celebration of the Templar Night.
As it could not be otherwise, the world of the Fallas will also be given prominence through the exhibition "The Holy Grail, the untold story" which will begin on 29 November and will close its doors on 3 November in the Casal de la Falla de la Merced.
Signposting the entrance of pilgrims in Ciutat Vella to the Cathedral to promote and prioritise the mobility of pedestrians at the end of the Way of the Holy Grail is a priority for the Association. This action does not exempt from promoting from the Administration a signage in accordance with the application of European Cultural Itinerary so that from the very heart of Europe people can come walking to Valencia.
Throughout these days there will also be other events related to culture. There will be a meeting at the Biblioteca de la Dona in Ciutat Vella, a guided tour with Indiana Jones and the distribution of Holy Grail Way badges to businesses that wish to collaborate with this initiative.
