The Mammen family are a heart-warming example of the American dream. Satheesh Mammen and his wife, Sosamma emigrated to the US from India in 1980, dreaming of success and looking forward to the day they could give back. They deeply believe in "love your neighbor as yourself" and regularly dedicate their resources to support many causes including providing school supplies, college tuition, relief for medical bills, summer camp programs, housing, and flood relief through charitable organizations, and often directly to recipients.

When the Mammens first arrived in the US, they both had various jobs washing dishes and working in manufacturing. They were passionate about education and worked hard, seven days a week, while earning their college degrees and raising their young family. After college, Satheesh worked his way up corporate ladder while Sosamma worked as a nurse and in 1995, Satheesh began opening businesses of his own.
