Silver Dollar Financial's Public Speaking Scholarship Goes to Reshmi Joseph

In keeping with her goal of becoming a science teacher for grades 7 through 12, Joseph's topic for the scholarship essay is on developing a growth mindset among students. "Those with a growth mindset know that they can learn from failures and put in the effort to become better," writes Joseph.

Avoiding this fixed mindset is important, as it can lead to students believing that the need to expend effort in order to complete a task is indicative of their lack of intelligence.
