Connecticut Press Club Announces 2021 Communications Contest

    GREENWICH, CT, January 13, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ -- How would you like to add "award-winning" to your resume?

If you published a book, started a blog, wrote a news article or personal essay, created a social media campaign, or snapped a photograph you're particularly proud of, enter your work in the Connecticut Press Club's popular Communications Contest, which is administered by the National Federation of Press Women. Whether you are a newspaper reporter or an author, there is likely a category to fit your entry.

Entries in 61 categories will be judged by professionals with corresponding expertise. Categories include: online and print news articles and columns, personal essay, social media campaigns, nonfiction, fiction, poetry, YA and children's books, page design, editing, photography and graphics, radio and TV, podcasts and blogs, advertising and PR, specialty articles in the arts, food, business, education, travel and more...

A few requirements to keep in mind:

Eligibility: Anyone who lives or works in Connecticut is eligible to enter work published from January 1, 2021, through December 31, 2021.

Contest Fees: The fee is $25 for the first entry and $15 for Connecticut Press Club members; non-members pay $30 for the first entry and $20 for each additional entry.

Deadlines: January 19th at noon is the regular contest deadline. After this date, a $25 late fee will be charged for the first entry you submit. The final deadline is noon on February 9th. The final book deadline is February 2nd.

The Connecticut Press Club will celebrate the contest winners with a cocktail party and awards ceremony in May. Anyone who receives a first-place award in the Connecticut Contest will be eligible to enter the National Federation of Press Women National Communications Contest.

In addition to the professional competition, the Connecticut Press Club is holding its first High School Communications Contest. Teens statewide are encouraged to enter work in 23 categories, including op-ed columns, blog posts, news and feature stories, radio, video, photographs, and cartoons. Entries must be produced by a current high school student or a recently graduated student who produced the work in their senior year between February 1, 2021, and January 31, 2022. The deadline for high school entrants is at noon in the entrant's time zone on February 9th, and the fee is $5. Click HERE for the complete list of categories.
