Picture This… We're Moving On Up to the West Side 5-K's, Parades, Special Events, New Stages, Memorable Concerts and More!

    OWENSBORO, KY, January 20, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Friday After 5, the free 16-week community music festival is proud to announce their 26th "Picture This" season with music and events the entire family can enjoy! Friday After 5 is striving to create a relaxed and entertaining family-friendly season, that is located in a central setting. Be prepared for amazing new concert stages, new performances, and events, even some surprise name guests!

"We are happy to see the direction Friday After 5 has taken over the last year," remarked Chad Day, President/Chairman of Friday After 5. "This year we are making a wonderful move west down to the brand new professional main Jagoe Homes Riverfront Live Concert stage at the Holiday Inn."

After 25 years, Friday After 5 is moving forward, leaving the RiverPark Center and shifting to a new location. The street fair has moved west, starting at Frederica, proceeding along Veterans Blvd, and curving at Locust St. The Bluegrass Museum will be home to select special family events; the Romain Overlook stage will once again have some remarkable entertainment; Lure Seafood & Grille is coming on board with some great food and entertainment; party central will continue on the Ruoff Party Stage at the Convention Center and the brand-new main concert stage will be the Jagoe Homes Riverfront stage along the Ohio River at Holiday Inn, where you can enjoy dancing, food, and a beautiful toast to the sunset! Mind you, there are special nights & concerts planned that will be held at McConnell Plaza and possibly a surprise or two.

Kicking off this season along our new location, will be the return of the Friday After 5 – 5K, for runners & walkers, partnering with the Track & Field department at Brescia University. The season will include a Beatles Rock Show, a Nikki Hayden Foundation night, a night with the award-winning band The Motels, a night to honor our First Responders and Supporting Heroes, and parades with visiting baseball and softball tournament youth are just a few things we can share! We are excited to welcome new directors to our board this month: Mary Anne Steele and Gordy Wilcher will be joining us, along with some great volunteers and committee members that will be working hard to make this an exceptional year. Friday After 5 began in 1997 with four concerts and grew into a 16-week signature riverfront festival for the entire tri-state area hosting more than 70,000 visitors each season. Featuring several venues of entertainment, food trucks and a kid-friendly Street Fair, Friday After 5 has become THE place to be every Friday during the summer. No tickets. No fees. No kidding.
