Picture This… The Friday After 5, 5-K Registration is LIVE! Walkers & Runners Can Officially Register for The Highly Anticipated Friday After 5 Opening Night 5K

    OWENSBORO, KY, February 07, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Are you ready to compete in this year's Friday After 5 – 5K? Now is the time to get your teams ready to run or walk the route. Or are you looking to run your best time? Friday After 5 and the Brescia University Cross Country & Track & Field team are thrilled to announce that you can officially register to participate in the FA5-5K on opening day. This special event will take place beginning at and returning to McConnell Plaza at the beautiful Downtown Owensboro Riverfront.

"On behalf of Brescia University, along with our cross country and track programs, we're excited to partner with Friday After 5 and give local runners and walkers an opportunity to get outside and participate as we all kick off another great season of Friday After 5," remarks Mark Rowe, Head Men's & Women's Cross Country & Track Coach.

When you register for the race, know your steps will support our Brescia University Cross Country & Track & Field program! Runners will enjoy the full 5K, fun filled, rain or shine event and come back to music, awards and the famous Friday After 5 Street Fair. Walkers can enjoy a 2 mile course to start at the same time as the runners! Come one, come all to help us launch the 26th 'Picture This" season of Friday After 5 – with energy and entertainment.

Once you return from the race, awards will be presented at McConnell Plaza and you can enjoy a little something from our food trucks! Best part is you can get ready for opening night entertainment as City Night presents the Beatles Rock Show on the brand-new main Jagoe Homes Riverfront main stage at Holiday Inn, where you can enjoy dancing, food, and a beautiful toast to the sunset, along with music on our Romain Overlook Stage and the Ruoff Party Stage at the Convention Center.

Friday After 5 began in 1997 with four concerts and grew into a 16-week signature riverfront festival for the entire tri-state area hosting more than 70,000 visitors each season. Featuring several venues of entertainment, food trucks and a kid-friendly Street Fair, Friday After 5 has become THE place to be every Friday during the summer.

Our mission is to promote community, goodwill and economic development by creating and producing weekly family-friendly, free entertainment events during the summer along the Owensboro riverfront and downtown.
