Kennedale Becoming More Business Friendly

    KENNDEDALE, TX, February 24, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ -- As part of efforts to bring more transparency and to return Kennedale's Economic Development Corporation to its core mission of promoting the economic development under the direction of City Council, Councilperson Jan Joplin (Place 1) proposed a resolution to amend the corporation's bylaws to create two new members of the board.

The resolution was passed by City Council in November 2021, and the additions will bring the total membership of the EDC board to nine. The two new non-voting members must own a business or property in Kennedale and must reside in Tarrant County.

"There are people who own businesses here that don't live here that want to serve and have ideas to contribute to our effort to attract more new small business to our community and to help existing business grow and thrive," said Joplin.

Those interested in serving on the EDC Board of Directors can apply directly on the City of Kennedale website. EDC Members are appointed by Kennedale City Council and serve two-year terms.
