Smiles for Life Kicks Off 25th Year of Boosting Smiles Locally, Globally

As the Crown Council launches its 25th annual Smiles for Life Campaign, patients looking to boost their smiles through teeth whitening or teeth straightening can also help to provide access to oral health for children around the world. Smiles for Life is the charitable arm of the Crown Council, a group of leading dentists around the world. As dentistry's most successful charity, Smiles for Life has raised millions of dollars for children's health that benefits local, national and international communities.

The Smiles for Life Campaign joins dentists, patients and dental manufacturers in a unique and charitable way that has far-reaching and long-last effects. When someone schedules a teeth whitening treatment with a Crown Council dentist office nationwide between March 1 and June 30, or a teeth straightening treatment anytime, the member dentist donates his or her time and expertise.

For patients looking to whiten their teeth, 100 percent of the whitening materials are generously donated by longstanding strategic partner Ultradent Products, Inc, maker of Opalescence tooth whitening systems. Thus, patients are able to donate 100 percent of the cost of their teeth whitening directly to Smiles for Life. Fifty percent of the proceeds benefit seriously ill, disabled and underprivileged children around the world, with the remaining 50 percent earmarked for each dental practice's local charity of choice.

For patients wanting a straighter smile, Smiles for Life is pleased to introduce a new partner in Tréz clear aligners. For each Tréz clear aligner treatment, a portion of the cost will be donated directly to the Smiles for Life Foundation.

The Smiles for Life campaign has raised more than $46 million since its founding. Half of the funds raised annually are donated to a local charity of each respective Crown Council member's choice. In that time, Smiles for Life dentists have supported more than 600 local children's charities. The remaining money goes to the Smiles for Life Foundation, which supports national and international oral health and other programs benefiting economically-disadvantaged children across the world, including the Dominican Republic, Nepal, Bolivia, and Guatemala. Smiles for Life also maintains a strong longtime partnership with the Garth Brooks Teammates for Kids Foundation which supports Child Life Zones in Children's Hospitals across the United States.
