Friday After 5 is Ready to Challenge Owensboro to Join us and Blanco Brown on our Stage Aug 19th

Blanco Brown, who blurs the lines between Country and Hip-Hop music, is bringing his unique style to the Friday After 5, Jagoe Homes Riverfront Live Stage on the Convention Center Lawn, Friday, Aug 19th kicking off Hydrofair weekend!

Blanco's viral hit "The Git Up" (certified 11x Platinum across 3 countries) took the world by storm and claimed the top spot in charts globally with nearly four billion views across social Platforms. It claimed No. 1 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart for 12 weeks and was the top-selling digital Country song in the US for 13 weeks resulting in naming Blanco Brown as their No.1 Top New Country Artist for 2019.

In true Friday After 5 fashion, the actual concert is FREE to all who come out, thanks to the wonderful sponsors large and small who make the Friday After 5 festival happen each year. Having this caliber of talent continue to visit Owensboro, in order to provide outstanding entertainment to our community, our fans have come to anticipate something a little more unique each year. For this special night, the United Way of the Ohio Valley is excited to join forces with Friday After 5 to bring not only bring one of the biggest names in music to Owensboro, but to start a summer long event to help bring awareness to non-profits in our county with "The Git Up Challenge to Make A Difference" Dance off competition. Non-profits, Elected Officials, Police, Sherriff and Fire departments, Chamber staff, EDC, Visit Owensboro, Media Outlets, our Sponsors and kids who love to dance, have been working harder than ever to serve our community during the pandemic and it's only right for them to be recognized and have some much-needed fun. The winners of each category, (Categories along with rules soon to be posted), will have the chance to take the stage and open for Blanco Brown. Rules will be posted soon.

Friday After 5, a 501c3, began in 1997 with four concerts and grew into a 16-week signature riverfront festival for the entire tri-state area, hosting more than 70,000 visitors each season.
